Module 6
Movie maker scared the crap out of me at first! I did not know if my couputer would download everything correctly and I had no idea how to get all my videos off my phone to the computer! THANK YOU RUSS! He really helped me on this assignment! He showed me how to activate my bluetooth on my phone then we transfered all my videos to his computer, saved it on my flash drive, and brought it up on my computer. Then Imovie maker was as easy as clicking and dragging the film where I wanted it to go. I really liked this assignment and was very proud of myself afterwards. I believe I could produce a movie now or at least edit it lol!
Module 5
This module was very interesting. I did not know that making a rubric could be so easy and benificial to my teaching. I love the idea that you can create a rubric for any age in school. I did a first grade rubric which was only about 3 spaces long and 3 spaces wide, but with help from Russ I was able to narrow down what was expected of my grading into three spaces without being to broad. I will use simple rubrics like this in my teaching no doubt!
Module 4
This module showed me how to have students do a final project while using technology. I choose to have my students complete a Jing presentation. This project is fun because the students get to choose what they want to do the presentation on from a list of approved websites. The sample I completed was a game that you could change the humidity and temperature to create different weather. This is a fun project that students can use to solidify their knowledge in weather and what causes it.

Module 3
This module has helped me realize what a great help the internet is to helping students learn. There are so many options that you can use to further learning. One of my favorites is teachertube.com. This website is just like youtube but the content is more protected and you are less likely to have mishaps with pop ups or video content that is not suitable for children to view. At teacher tube you can look up any video for all types of studies. I have looked up several videos that go with my unit weather. I have found several videos that show the water cycle and list the individual parts of it. Another website that is beneficial to students learning is google.com. You can look up anything through google and it will take you to sites that go with what you entered in the search bar.

Module 2
This module has helped me think about using standards, CFQs,
or formative assessment in the following ways…This module information has helped me understand a lot better what a unit is about. I LOVE the ALEX site and having somethin at the tips of your fingers were you can check the standards of the alabama curri is a great tool to have as a future teacher. I also liked learning about CFQs. Until Russ explained what they were and helped me choose a broad category for them I would have gotten it wrong on the Unit Plan. I know understand that CFQs should cover a subject but can be used throughout the year like mine How Weather affects us. I can use that to go into several lesson plans. So thank you so much Russ and tell Elizabeth I said hello! :)

Module 1
This module has made me think about my role as
an instructional designer in the following waysThis has helped me see that teaching is not always about student's retaining information the same way everytime. I have always been a big fan of projects and learning outside of the "box". Seeing the way that education is turning to teaching the whole child and trying to individualize a plan for every student is very encouraging. I will make sure to try my hardest to teach children in ways that relate to somethings important in their lives. Like in math you could use saving up for a new toy as a math problem. If a student gets 1.50 in allowance every week how many weeks will it take him or her to buy a 30 dollar toy? Students will be excited because it is something they can relate to and they will be learning about money which is sometimes a hard concept for younger children to grasp.
